About This Role
FlightSafety International is seeking a Flight Instructor in West Palm Beach to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. The instructor will train clients in core, specialty and enrichment courses, prepare curriculum-supporting materials, evaluate trainee progress, maintain accurate records and help clients achieve their training objectives. The role also involves identifying training issues, maintaining instructor qualifications and supporting effective classroom and simulator-based instruction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support delivery in accordance with the applicable curriculum and the client's needs.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommend trainees for qualification or additional training, and complete accurate client-specific training records to support achievement of the requested objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance before execution when necessary.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Instruction may involve managing classes, teaching effectively, operating simulator controls and rudder or anti-torque controls, moving between the instructor station, screen and podium, and responding to simulator malfunctions, including exiting a device in a severely pitched attitude.
Requirements
- No minimum education is specified. Applicants must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program and must hold an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state. Applicants without an ATP must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation. A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required. FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121 or military training experience is preferred, as is 2,500 hours of total flight time. Candidates should understand aviation safety standards and practices and common aviation regulations, and should be able to manage classes and teach effectively. Physical capabilities include operating rudder or anti-torque controls with both feet, manipulating simulator controls from the instructor's chair, entering and exiting the simulator via its ramp, moving between the instructor station, screen and podium, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude.
