About This Role
Airbus Canada's A220 commercial aircraft programme is seeking a Type II Flight Simulator Instructor for its Customer Services organization in Mirabel, Quebec. The role is part of the Airbus Canada Training Centre and focuses on delivering high-quality pilot training and flight-operations support for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the A220 (BD-500). The instructor will represent Airbus Canada to customers, operators and authorities, collaborate with teams worldwide, train airline crews converting to the A220, and contribute to standardization, course development, project work and future management opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct the best possible training and checking within Airbus Canada Training according to the instructor's qualifications, ensuring safe and efficient A220 (BD-500) aircraft operations. Instruct airline crews converting to the Airbus A220 on all operational and technical aspects using fixed-base simulators, classroom and virtual-classroom instruction, Airbus pilot training devices, FSTDs, OTDs and Full Flight Simulators. Work on projects as required within the Training and Flight Operations organization
- represent Airbus Canada Training and the manufacturer to customers
- proactively identify potential problems and develop solutions
- and perform standardization, development and management tasks throughout the career at Airbus Canada. Maintain and upgrade competencies in line with qualifications. Deliver stand-up lectures covering normal and emergency procedures required by airworthiness authorities, adhere to Airbus policies and standardization, instruct crews within defined time limits, evaluate crew progression, determine when an additional session is needed to achieve the required proficiency level, and participate in course development or standardization instruction as requested.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold or have held a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with a Frozen ATPL, or an ATPL.
- Fluent English is required, as is Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) as a pilot.
- The required experience is a minimum of 3,000 hours as a pilot, at least 1,500 hours on a Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA), and at least three years of commercial aviation experience as a pilot on FAR 25 / CS 25 or FAR 23 / CS 23 aircraft in multi-pilot operations, preferably on Airbus aircraft.
- Highly recommended or advantageous experience includes current qualification and experience as a Captain and Flight Instructor on the BD-500, a Synthetic Flight Instructor Authorization or other instructor experience, and examiner experience.
- Evidence-based training and Competency-Based Training Assessment expertise is required.
