About This Role
The Savannah Flight Instructor delivers ground and simulator flight instruction for FlightSafety International clients in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. The role supports core, specialty, and enrichment courses by preparing training materials, evaluating trainee progress, recommending qualification or additional training, maintaining accurate client records, identifying training issues before execution, and maintaining instructor qualifications. The position also involves classroom and simulator work with substantial physical and safety-related demands.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training courses. Develop and prepare training materials that support delivery in accordance with the applicable curriculum and client needs. Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommend qualification or additional training, and complete accurate client-specific training records to support the requested training objectives. Identify client training issues and seek assistance before execution. Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements. During instruction, use simulator rudder controls, anti-torque controls, and other controls from the instructor station
- move between the instructor station, screen, and podium
- enter and exit the simulator
- and exit the simulator safely following a malfunction in a severely pitched attitude.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirement is stated. Candidates must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program and must hold an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state. Candidates without an ATP must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation. A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required. FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience and 2,500 hours of total flight time are preferred. The role requires knowledge of aviation safety standards, practices, and common aviation regulations, as well as the ability to manage classes, teach effectively, facilitate at a basic level, provide basic customer service, remain coachable, and receive feedback. Physical requirements include operating rudder or anti-torque controls with both feet, manipulating simulator controls, entering and exiting the simulator via a ramp, moving between classroom instruction stations, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude. - must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds. Employment is contingent on compliance reviews, including OFAC sanctions screening, and the role may require eligibility under ITAR/EAR export-control rules, U.S. Person status or other export authorization, and a U.S. Government security clearance.
