About This Role
Rainier Flight Service is seeking Flight Instructors to provide high-quality flight, ground, and simulator instruction to students at their flight training operations in the Seattle area. This is a flexible, part-time position ideal for certified flight instructors looking to build experience while maintaining their own proficiency. Instructors can manage their own schedules working with over 250 students flying from 6 am to midnight, with compensation up to $30/hour plus bonuses for seminars and events. The position offers access to discounted or free training for additional ratings, networking opportunities, and a supportive community dedicated to aviation excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality flight, ground, and simulator instruction to enrolled students
- Conduct introductory/discovery flight lessons for new prospects
- Provide BFR (Biennial Flight Review) ground and flight instruction
- Provide currency and proficiency instruction as requested
- Perform aircraft check-outs and sign-offs by make and model
- Assist students with flight and ground appointment scheduling
- Complete logbook entries for students and instructor records
- Teach ground school sessions as requested
- Ensure all course standards and training requirements are met
- Recommend fully-prepared students for FAA checkrides
- Maintain clean, professional environments in aircraft and company building
- Stay current with recommended CFI techniques and materials
- Monitor aircraft maintenance condition and report issues promptly
- Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure safe and efficient operations

Requirements
- FAA Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate
- Valid FAA Instrument Instructor (CFII) certificate preferred
- Current FAA medical certificate
- Current and proficient to CFI PTS standards in ASEL aircraft
- Knowledge of effective instructional techniques in classroom and flight
- Knowledge of FARs and Oral and Practical Test Standards
- Ability to communicate professionally with students, instructors, and management
