About This Role
FlightSafety International is seeking a Flight Instructor in Orlando to deliver high-quality ground and simulator instruction for clients completing core, specialty, or enrichment training. The instructor will prepare curriculum-aligned training materials, evaluate trainee progress, maintain accurate records, and help clients achieve their training objectives while maintaining required instructor qualifications. The position supports professional aviation training and may involve classroom, simulator, and physically demanding operational environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver ground and simulator flight instruction to clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support effective delivery and meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommend trainees for qualification or additional training, and complete accurate client-specific training records that support achievement of the requested objectives.
- Identify client training issues and obtain assistance before executing the training.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Instruction may involve classroom teaching, simulator operation, movement between the instructor station, screen, and podium, and responding to simulator malfunctions or other demanding operational conditions.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirement is stated.
- Candidates must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program and must hold an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state.
- Applicants without an ATP must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- At least one unrestricted PIC type rating is required.
- FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience and 2,500 hours of total flight time are preferred.
- The role also calls for knowledge of aviation safety standards and common aviation regulations, the ability to manage classes and teach effectively, first-level facilitation and customer-service skills, and the ability to accept coaching and feedback.
- Physical requirements include operating simulator controls with both feet, reaching and manipulating controls from the instructor station, entering and exiting the simulator, moving around the classroom while teaching, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude.
