About This Role
The University of Oklahoma seeks a Flight Instructor I to provide flight instruction and support the university aviation program in Norman. The role combines instructional work with training coordination, scheduling, flight dispatch, faculty and staff transportation flights, program recruitment and promotion, course and training-material development, and basic preventive maintenance support for the university aircraft fleet.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight instruction
- coordinate and schedule training activities
- support daily flight operations through dispatch functions
- operate faculty and staff transportation flights (FAST flights)
- assist with aviation-program recruitment and promotional efforts
- develop new courses and training materials
- and support basic preventive maintenance of the university's aircraft fleet. The work schedule varies Monday through Friday between 0700 and 2230, with occasional nights and weekends.

Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience. The position requires an FAA Certified Flight Instructor License, an FAA Class II medical certificate that must be maintained, and a valid driver's license. Employment is contingent upon a background check and a driver's license check
