About This Role
FlightSafety International is hiring Flight Instructors for its Wilmington Learning Center in New Castle, Delaware. The instructor will deliver professional ground and simulator training to pilots receiving core, specialty, or enrichment courses, while supporting a safety-driven culture and maintaining regulatory instructor qualifications. The role combines classroom facilitation, simulator instruction, trainee evaluation, training-record administration, client service, and proactive identification of training issues.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support delivery of the applicable curriculum and meet client needs.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommending qualification or additional training as appropriate.
- Complete accurate client-specific training records to support each trainee’s requested objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance before training execution.
- Maintain FlightSafety instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements, while delivering instruction effectively and upholding the company’s safety and operational standards.
Requirements
- Candidates must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program. The posting requires either an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state. Applicants without an ATP must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience limitation. A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required. FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience is preferred, as is 2,500 hours of total flight time. The role also calls for knowledge of aviation safety standards and common aviation regulations, the ability to manage classes and teach effectively, first-level facilitation and customer-service skills, and the ability to accept coaching and feedback. Physical requirements include using and manipulating simulator and rudder controls, entering and exiting the simulator by ramp, moving between instructor, screen, and podium positions, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude.
