About This Role
FlightSafety International is hiring a Flight Instructor in Tucson, Arizona to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. The instructor will conduct pilot training across core, specialty, and enrichment courses, prepare curriculum-supporting materials, evaluate trainee progress and recommend qualification or additional training, maintain accurate records, address training issues before execution, and maintain instructor qualifications. FlightSafety is a professional aviation training and simulator provider serving commercial, government, and military organizations and aviation professionals from locations worldwide.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support delivery and meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress and recommend qualification or additional training.
- Complete accurate client-specific training records to help each client achieve requested objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance before execution.
- Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Applicants must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program. They must hold an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state. If they do not hold an ATP, they must meet 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 requirements without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation. At least one unrestricted PIC type rating is required. Preferred experience is FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience, together with 2,500 hours of total flight time. Physical demands include using hands and arms to handle controls and reach, speaking and hearing, and potentially standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using taste or smell. The employee must be able to use both feet to operate rudder and/or anti-torque controls, manipulate simulator controls from the Instructor's chair, enter and exit via the ramp, move among the Instructor station, screen and podium while teaching, and exit a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude. Required vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral and depth vision and focus adjustment
- the job regularly involves lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and frequently up to 25 pounds. The work may be near moving mechanical parts, at height or in precarious places, and outdoors, with occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
