About This Role
Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced F-35 Pilot Instructor at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point to train the next generation of F-35 pilots. The role delivers academic, flight-procedure, and simulator instruction using Electronic Mediated Lecture, Interactive Courseware, and Full Mission Simulators; operates Instructor Operating Stations; and supports courseware updates as a subject matter expert. Applicants need former instructor-pilot experience, at least 1,000 hours of fighter flight time in fourth- and/or fifth-generation multi-role fighters, active Secret clearance eligibility for Special Access Required programs, and experience with advanced fighter systems and military pilot training.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide expert instruction and guidance to F-35 pilots using Electronic Mediated Lecture, Interactive Courseware, and Full Mission Simulators.
- Develop and deliver academic training programs, flight procedures, and simulator training so pilots gain the skills and knowledge required for operational success.
- Collaborate with other instructors and subject matter experts to maintain high-quality training programs, operate Instructor Operating Stations, and serve as a subject matter expert for pilot-training courseware updates.

Requirements
- The position requires willingness to travel within and outside the United States for up to 89 days at a time and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance, with an investigation within the past six years, and be able to qualify for access to Special Access Required programs. A minimum of 1,000 hours of fighter flight time in fourth- and/or fifth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft and former Instructor Pilot experience are required. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of fourth- and/or fifth-generation aircraft systems, advanced sensor systems including night-vision devices, EO/IR targeting systems, helmet-mounted cueing, and current air-to-surface and air-to-air weapons. Prior experience delivering military pilot academics and simulator training, familiarity with current instructional techniques, strong interpersonal and communication skills, leadership ability, organization, customer focus, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are also required. Desired qualifications include current or demonstrated USAF, USN, or USMC Instructor Pilot experience with multi-role fighters
- Weapon School, Top Gun, or MAWTS graduation
- fifth-generation Full Mission Simulator operator or instructor experience
- and F-35 flight experience. The desired-skills section also repeats a preference for at least 1,000 hours of fighter flight time in fourth- and/or fifth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft.
