FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, is hiring a Flight Instructor for its C-21 Program in St Louis, Missouri. The instructor delivers ground and simulator flight instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety's training principles, supporting pilots through core, specialty and enrichment training courses.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support training delivery and meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress and recommend candidates for qualification or additional training.
- Complete accurate, client-specific training records that aid each client in achieving their objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance before execution.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Applicants must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT drug and alcohol testing program. Candidates must hold an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member-state Airline Transport Pilot License
- applicants without an ATP must instead meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation. A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required. Preferred qualifications include prior FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience, and 2,500 hours of total flight time. The role also calls for knowledge of aviation safety standards, practices and common aviation regulations, the ability to manage classes and teach effectively, first-level facilitation and customer-service skills, and a coachable attitude open to developmental feedback. There is no minimum education requirement. The position carries physical demands tied to simulator instruction, including operating rudder/anti-torque controls with both feet, manipulating controls from the instructor's chair, moving between instructor station, screen and podium, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude. Employment is contingent on OFAC sanctions screening and ITAR/EAR export-control compliance, generally requiring the applicant to qualify as a U.S. Person or otherwise be eligible for export authorization, and the position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
