About This Role
Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a Flight Instructor 4 to provide learner-centric flight and ground training to Cirrus customers at its Cirrus Services Center serving the Knoxville, Tennessee area. The instructor delivers training in Cirrus SR and SF aircraft using a structured syllabus and proprietary course materials, while also supporting customer progression, safety management, records, flight planning, lesson preparation, and process improvement. The role additionally performs Part 91 corporate flight missions, including demonstration, repositioning, ferry, internal training, and post-maintenance flights, and reports to the Flight Operations Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The instructor follows all industry and Cirrus safety procedures, provides excellent professional customer service, and makes timely, accurate safety-of-flight decisions. Duties include conducting training events under programme guidance
- delivering flight and ground instruction to Cirrus standards
- meticulously recording training activities and results
- recommending students for FAA written and practical tests
- assessing performance in psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains
- and tailoring training events to individual student needs. The instructor acts as pilot in command of Cirrus aircraft for corporate flight missions, ferry flights, internal training flights, and demonstration flights
- performs normal pre-flight and post-flight inspections
- cleans, fuels, oils, and de-ices aircraft
- updates chart subscriptions
- maintains current knowledge of Cirrus aircraft products
- and serves as a model aviator, instructor, and Cirrus representative. The role also requires communication with students before and after training, enhancement of flight safety through standardized instruction, and completion of other assigned duties.

Requirements
- Applicants must have three years of pilot experience and either 1,000 hours of dual given or 750 hours in Cirrus aircraft.
- An SF50 type rating and an ATP certificate are preferred, while a current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate, an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate for Airplane Single-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane, and a current FAA Second-Class Airman Medical Certificate or higher are required.
- Preferred operational experience includes IFR in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flight, and night operations.
- Candidates must meet the FAA ATP single-engine requirements under FAR 61.159, including 1,500 hours total time, 500 hours cross-country, 100 hours night, 75 hours instrument, and 250 hours airplane PIC time.
- The posting also requires either 100 hours of turbine time or current employment as a Cirrus pilot.
