About This Role
Cirrus Aircraft is hiring a full-time, onsite Flight Instructor 4 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The instructor delivers industry-leading, learner-centered flight and ground training to Cirrus customers in SR and SF aircraft using a structured syllabus and proprietary course materials; the overview states that training is provided at the Cirrus Services Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. In addition to instruction, the role tracks student progression, maintains training and safety records, plans lessons and flights, acts as pilot in command during Part 91 corporate operations as needed, and supports aircraft knowledge, safety, customer service and process improvement. The position reports to the Flight Operations Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide learner-centric flight and ground instruction to Cirrus customers in accordance with program guidance, Cirrus policies, structured syllabi and proprietary training materials. Conduct training events, flight reviews and proficiency checks

- and meticulously record all training activities and results. Perform record keeping, safety management, flight and lesson planning, complex problem solving, subject-matter development and process-improvement recommendations. Act as pilot in command of Cirrus aircraft during Part 91 corporate operations, ferry flights, internal training flights, demonstration flights, repositioning flights and post-maintenance flights. Perform preflight and postflight inspections, clean and fuel aircraft, add oil, apply de-icing fluid and update chart subscriptions. Follow all industry and Cirrus safety procedures, make timely safety-of-flight decisions, provide excellent professional customer service, continuously learn the latest Cirrus aircraft developments, maintain deep aircraft knowledge, serve as a model aviator and Cirrus representative, enhance safety through high-quality standardized instruction, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements
- The posting requires three years of pilot experience and either 1,000 hours of dual given or 750 hours in Cirrus.
- It requires a current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate for Airplane Single-Engine and Instrument Airplane, an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate for Airplane Single-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane, and a current second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- An SF50 type rating and an ATP certificate are preferred.
- Preferred experience includes IFR in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flying and night operations.
- The candidate must meet the ATP single-engine experience requirements under FAR 61.159, listed as 1,500 hours total time, 500 hours cross-country, 100 hours night, 75 hours instrument and 250 hours airplane PIC.
- The posting additionally requires 100 hours of turbine time or current employment as a pilot by Cirrus.
