About This Role
Eaton Corporation is seeking a Flight Captain for its corporate flight operations in Richmond Heights, Ohio. The Captain serves as aircraft commander and final authority for the safe, compliant operation of the aircraft, crew, and passengers under Eaton’s Flight Operations Manual, applicable FAA regulations, and International Civil Aviation Organization regulations. The role includes supervising and developing First Officers, ensuring passenger and crew safety, managing international customs and immigration documentation, exercising emergency authority, and supporting high-quality passenger service. Relocation will be provided for candidates living more than 50 miles from Richmond Heights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Flight Captain has direct responsibility and final authority for aircraft operations and acts as aircraft commander for the aircraft, crew, and passengers. Duties include conducting business with professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct
- achieving operational objectives through the Eaton Business System
- providing passengers and customers with a high level of service
- protecting passengers and crewmembers
- conducting daily operations under applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and the Eaton Flight Operations Manual
- supervising the First Officer
- developing First Officers through leadership, flight proficiency, aeronautical knowledge, and regulatory compliance
- evaluating First Officer performance through post-flight debriefings and periodic written evaluations
- submitting required flight forms and reports
- coordinating with Eaton’s International Handler on customs and immigration requirements and documentation
- assisting coworkers when possible
- and exercising emergency authority under federal regulations while complying with Eaton’s Flight Operations Emergency Action Plan. When assigned as second-in-command, the Flight Captain remains operationally responsible to the designated pilot-in-command for that trip, regardless of which pilot is flying or which seat is occupied.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with an English Proficient endorsement, an FAA First-Class Medical Certificate, recent flight experience under FAR 61.57, and the pilot-in-command proficiency check required by FAR 61.58. Candidates must have at least 3,000 hours total flight time, 1,000 hours in multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft, 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command in fixed-wing aircraft, and 200 hours in jet aircraft. Candidates must hold a current passport, comply with CANPASS requirements, and be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future. A CL30 type rating is preferred. Before being designated pilot-in-command, the Captain must have been employed by Eaton for at least three months and must have completed command-skills line-oriented flight training, high-altitude flight physiology and hypoxia training, and crew resource management training
- training completed with another employer is accepted. The position requires 75% travel.
