About This Role
Avelo Airlines is seeking full-time Flight Attendants to join its safety and service team in McKinney, Texas. The role combines aircraft safety, emergency response, regulatory compliance, customer service, onboard sales and service, and collaboration with flight crews and company leadership. Flight Attendants must complete Avelo training, accept a base assignment after training, work variable schedules and extended duty periods, and meet the airline’s travel, work authorization, language, appearance, and physical requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Flight Attendants ensure the safety, security, welfare, and comfort of customers and crewmembers
- respond safely and effectively to in-flight emergencies
- support smooth and efficient aircraft and flight operations
- and complete incident and safety reports on time. They create a caring customer experience from boarding through deplaning, serve as Avelo brand ambassadors, resolve onboard customer issues, follow Federal Aviation Regulations and applicable laws and procedures, attend required training, maintain qualifications, and keep current with the Inflight Service Manual, Flight Attendant Playbook, OneCrew Way Handbook, revisions, bulletins, and tablet updates. They build customer loyalty by cooperating with operational crewmembers and Avelo leadership, treat each customer with kindness and respect, support onboard service, sales, and revenue-generating initiatives, and act as customer service, marketing, and public-relations ambassadors. Additional responsibilities may be assigned or changed in response to emergencies or workload changes.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have reliable transportation, and be able to report to their assigned location within two hours.
- They must successfully complete all Avelo Flight Attendant training, accept and relocate to a base assignment at their own expense after training, and work rotating schedules with variable hours, duty days of up to 16 hours, nighttime or overnight hours, weekends, holidays, and multiple days away from home.
- Applicants must maintain a neat professional appearance, comply with Avelo uniform and appearance guidelines and all DOT, FAA, and company drug and alcohol requirements, and be willing and able to serve all types of food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
- They must maintain a working telephone number and current residence address, possess a valid United States passport or foreign passport with applicable visas with at least six months of remaining validity, and be able to travel freely between the United States, Canada, and all cities served by Avelo without restriction.
- Fluency in spoken, written, read, and understood English is required, as is legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Applicants must perform duties in the Avelo Inflight Services Manual, Flight Attendant Playbook, company safety manuals, and assignments from the flight Captain or Avelo leadership.
- Physical requirements include vision of at least 20/40 with corrective lenses, lifting 50 pounds from ground to waist, walking forward through the aircraft aisle without interfering with seated customers, securing all jumpseat restraints without a seatbelt extension, maintaining balance while walking and standing in flight, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and crouching for extended periods, pushing or pulling aircraft doors, exits, or carts with up to 100 pounds of force, and assisting customers during an evacuation.
