About This Role
Flexjet Europe is recruiting an experienced Direct Entry Captain for its Gulfstream G650 team, with the role listed in Farnborough and based in the UK and EU. The Captain exercises Pilot in Command authority and final responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, leads assigned flight crews, ensures airworthiness and documentation, coordinates with Operations and maintenance, and delivers an exceptional passenger experience through passenger greetings, seating assistance, luggage support, and briefings. The position requires a valid EASA ATPL and Class 1 Medical Certificate, 4,500 total flight hours, 2,000 PIC hours, specified multi-engine land and turbine experience, 500 actual instrument hours, Level 5 English proficiency, international travel capability, and the right to live and work in Europe and/or the UK. Similar-type experience, a bachelor's degree, and commercial air transport or corporate aviation experience are preferred. Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain exercises Pilot in Command authority and final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft, performs all Captain and PIC duties, directs other crew members, ensures that each crew member fully understands their assigned duties, and carries out all duties in accordance with Company procedures.
- The Captain ensures that the assigned aircraft is airworthy and that all required documents are onboard, promptly reports known or suspected violations and incidents to the Fleet Manager, maintains a current medical certificate, and notifies the Fleet Manager of any physical or mental condition that may impair flight performance.
- At the end of the day, the Captain ensures that maintenance discrepancies are reported and documented to the maintenance team and alerts Operations to the aircraft's current status when required.
- The role requires regular communication with Operations and other relevant departments so operational messages are promptly conveyed between the flight crew and Operations.
- The Captain maintains a high degree of professional, efficient, and cordial crew coordination and is responsible to the Fleet Manager for duty assignments and training.
- Passenger-facing responsibilities include greeting passengers, assisting with seating and luggage storage, ensuring that passenger briefings are conducted, and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include a valid EASA ATPL, a valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate, a valid UK/EU/EEA passport or legal right to live and work in Europe and/or the UK, English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 5 minimum, and the ability to travel internationally to all Flexjet operating destinations. Flight experience requirements are a minimum of 4,500 total flight hours, 2,000 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours, 500 Multi-Engine Land hours on MPA, 500 Multi-Engine Turbine hours on MPA, and 500 actual instrument hours
- 1,000 hours is preferred in each of the two multi-engine categories. Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 500 hours on a similar type, a bachelor's degree, and previous experience within Commercial Air Transport and/or Corporate Aviation operations. The role also requires comprehensive knowledge of EASA Flight Operations regulations, strong organisational and multitasking capabilities, excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, proficiency with tablets, email, word processing, and web-based applications, strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence, collaborative teamwork, and professional appearance and grooming standards. Working conditions include exposure to aircraft operating environments and moving mechanical equipment, extreme weather including heat, cold, rain, and snow, elevated working areas and aviation-related hazards, aviation fuels, chemicals and lavatory servicing fluids, and high-noise airport and aircraft environments. In addition to maintaining the Class 1 Medical Certificate, the successful candidate must load and unload passenger baggage, perform aircraft pre-flight and post-flight inspections, assist with snow and ice removal, install and remove engine covers, carry out routine aircraft cleaning, occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 23 kg, and meet close-vision, distance-vision, peripheral-vision, depth-perception, and focus-adjustment standards.
