About This Role
Avianca's First Officer Talent Pool - Ecuador 2026 is recruiting commercial pilots to support, complement, and represent the Pilot in Command as second in command in the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights. The position may be based in Quito or Guayaquil depending on the operational plan and requires an Ecuador-validated Commercial Pilot License, a First Class Medical Certificate, at least 250 total flight hours, a valid passport and U.S. visa, and ICAO English Level 4. Applications are open through August 10, 2026; three takeoffs and landings within the previous 90 days are also listed as desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support, complement, and represent the Pilot in Command as second in command in the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights.
- Perform flight-deck duties in accordance with established standards and guidelines and follow the procedures in the operating manuals.
- Assume command if the Captain becomes incapacitated and retain that responsibility until landing is complete and all passengers have disembarked.
- Review and promptly update technical and operational documentation and comply with company policies.
- Inspect the aircraft for possible structural damage, take the appropriate action, and ensure compliance with operating limitations and safety standards.
- Represent the Captain in delegated duties while following established procedures to ensure a safe operation.

Requirements

- A First Class Medical Certificate valid for no more than 12 months.
- Proof of at least 250 total flight hours and the latest certified page of the applicant's logbook.
- A valid passport.
- A valid U.S. visa.
- Current proof of at least ICAO English Level 4, issued by a training center authorized by Ecuador's Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three takeoffs and landings within the previous 90 days are desirable.
