About This Role
Kalitta Air is recruiting First Officers for global airlift operations involving scheduled services around the world and ad hoc trips to challenging destinations. The First Officer assists the Captain and crew in safely operating the aircraft using Crew Resource Management and complying with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures. The posting offers first-year pay of $117 per hour, a 64-hour monthly guarantee, full flight pay from the first day of training, and company-paid commuting travel. Pilots may live anywhere in the country, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely assist the Captain and crew in operating the aircraft through effective Crew Resource Management, following all Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Perform preflight inspections of the aircraft and freight, assist the crew with necessary paperwork, and operate the aircraft with precise attention to policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Call attention to unsafe conditions on the ground or in flight, and perform post-flight aircraft inspections.
What We Offer
First-year pay is $117 per hour with a 64-hour monthly guarantee, and full flight pay begins on the first day of training.Flying on days off is paid at 150% of the hourly rate.The schedule is 16 days on and 15 days off, or 14 days off in a 30-day month.Pilots may bid for the more common 16-consecutive-day schedule or available split schedules, such as 8 days on, 15 days off, and 8 days on.There is no junior manning.Benefits include Blue Cross/Blue Shield health, dental, and vision coverage and a 12% direct 401(k) contribution.Travel to and from work is 100% company-paid, with positive-space tickets to and from duty assignments rather than reliance on jumpseating.Pilots may live anywhere in the country, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold an unrestricted FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate, a current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate, an FCC Radio License, and a current U.S. passport.
- A minimum of 1,700 hours total time and 700 hours multi-engine time is required.
- Total time of 2,000 hours or more and 500 hours of turbine (jet) flight time are preferred.
- Applicants must have no restrictions on international travel and must be able to pass a 10-year security background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
