About This Role
Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an experienced fighter pilot and flight instructor to lead the pilot instructor team within its Training Solutions Team in Getafe, Madrid. The position leads the Spanish Trainer programme training scope and combines instructor-team leadership, ground-based theoretical and simulator instruction, training-system design, Training Needs Analysis, supplier oversight, project delivery, and subject-matter expertise. The team develops and delivers advanced ground-training solutions for military aircrews, with the objective of supporting safe and efficient flight operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the pilot instructor team and oversee project scope, planning, supplier management, progress reporting, and delivery.
- Deliver ground-based aircrew training through theoretical instruction and flight-simulator sessions.
- Design comprehensive training plans, course content, technical documentation, and other materials tailored to operational requirements.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis and assess technical documentation to define core aircrew-training objectives.
- Manage subcontracted work packages by supervising supplier performance and technical quality and approving training deliverables.
- Support the production of multimedia learning products, including Computer-Based Training and digital courseware, by preparing detailed training-data packages and technical-support documentation.

Requirements
- Candidates must hold an Aeronautical Engineering degree, another university degree, or an equivalent Military Flight Academy qualification.
- The role requires more than 10 years of experience as a combat fighter pilot, flight experience on the Eurofighter (EF) or F-18, and proven flight-instructor experience.
- Candidates need strong public-speaking and audience-management abilities, a high degree of team and customer orientation, and adaptability.
- Native Spanish and advanced written and spoken English are required.
- The technical profile includes project-management and supplier-management experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, and familiarity with multimedia training applications.
- Direct experience conducting Training Needs Analysis and developing Computer-Based Training is valuable but listed as a nice-to-have qualification.
