About This Role
Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), a Textron Systems business, is hiring an experienced fighter pilot to fly the Dassault Mirage F-1 in support of U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force training and readiness missions. Based at ATAC's permanent facility at Cherry Point, North Carolina (Marine contracts), the pilot acts as a surrogate Adversary, Red Air, Aggressor, or Close Air Support asset for 4th- and 5th-generation fighter operational, conversion, and continuation training, as well as surface-fleet pre-deployment and large-force-employment missions. The work involves demanding air-combat-tactics flying in a high-G environment and deployment to various locations as required. This is a full-time, onsite, individual-contributor role with roughly 50% travel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Employ ATAC fighter aircraft across their full flight envelope as a surrogate Adversary, Red Air, Aggressor, or Close Air Support pilot supporting Marine Corps large-force-employment exercises and intercept-controller training. Maintain FAA instrument currency, First Class medical certification, and adversary mission qualifications and currencies, including low-level, dynamic-mission, and unlimited air-combat-tactics maneuvering in a high-G environment. Attend mass briefings, adversary coordination briefings, and other pre-flight briefings

- complete flight debriefings and attend mass debriefings. Adhere to all training rules and pre-briefed maneuvering restrictions. Collect and disseminate lessons learned. Complete necessary ground training prior to flights, and deploy as required to support mission requirements.

Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: previously qualified DoD-trained fighter pilot
- previously qualified 4-ship/division flight lead
- 700 hours pilot-in-command (PIC) of any fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft
- 100 hours PIC at night
- 100 hours PIC logged in the past 12 months
- current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- FAA Single-Engine Commercial certificate with instrument privileges
- Secret security clearance
- and U.S. citizenship. Specific contract qualifications add 1,000 hours PIC of a military tactical aircraft and 500 hours PIC of any fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft. Desired qualifications include USAF Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) graduate and USAF adversary qualification
- USN Fighter Weapons School / NAWDC / TOPGUN graduate
- Test Pilot School graduate
- DoD military instructor pilot qualification
- mission commander qualification
- military or civilian flight examiner qualification
- functional check flight pilot qualification
- NVG instructor and CRM instructor
- FAA CFI(I) certificate
- familiarity with the DoD commercial air services industry
- FAA authorized experimental aircraft privileges
- DoD Safety School or Board President Course graduate
- squadron command experience
