About This Role
Leading Edge Aviation is recruiting an FIC-approved Flight Instructor to train and develop its Flight Instructor team in the UK and Spain, help ensure instructors hold the licences and ratings needed to train the academy's growing student population, deliver training towards FCL900 certificates, and support standardisation for incoming staff. When not working with instructors, the role serves as a Multi-Engine Flight Instructor, providing high-standard flight and simulator training to student pilots on integrated and modular UK CAA and EASA licence courses. The full-time position is based at the Oxford Academy and includes travel to the company's Spanish campus as required. The academy is seeking someone with the expertise and passion to help shape the next generation of commercial pilots.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Train Flight Instructors and support standardisation for all incoming instructors, ensuring they can deliver high-quality training with strong safety and compliance standards. Deliver training for the initial issue of a flight-instructor certificate and for instructor upgrades, including instrument, night and multi-engine ratings, and deliver training towards FCL900 certificates

Deliver engaging, high-quality standardised flight training to students, teaching course standards, training requirements and objectives correctly and on time under the direction of the Head of Training, Chief Flight Instructor and their deputies. Manage student progress, report deficiencies and other issues to the CFI, complete non-flying work such as Duty Instructor and classroom briefings, and guide students through their courses. Identify improvements to practical instruction and Training Standards and work with responsible colleagues to improve academy safety and quality. Monitor the technical and internal condition and cleanliness of training aircraft and simulators, report discrepancies, and verify that equipment is airworthy and suitable for training or operations. Follow the Company FCOM and ensure students understand and comply with the applicable SOPs
- support and mentor peers and perform other reasonable duties directed by the HoT and CFI. Promote safe behaviour on the ground and in the air in line with Leading Edge Aviation's Safety Policies, teach and reinforce Flight Safety principles throughout the academy, participate in the Safety Management System, file Air Safety Reports, attend safety briefings, remain alert to unsafe behaviour or actions, and follow additional safety standards at home and third-party airports. Maintain your own logbook under Company/National Regulations, complete student training records promptly and check student logbooks, attend administrative, standardisation, instructor-development and in-service training meetings, participate in open days and events when requested, and uphold the company's core values in all actions, decisions and interactions. Maintain high levels of professionalism, compliance and integrity while contributing flexibly and collaboratively to the company's vision of excellence.

Requirements
- The core competency profile lists FIC/FII approval
- UK CAA FCL, with EASA FCL or EASA FCL900 desirable
- FI(A) ratings a and b, with FI(A) d, e and g desirable
- and a Class 1 medical from the related authorities valid for at least six months. The ideal candidate will hold UK CAA and EASA licences and be Multi-Engine qualified, although the company welcomes candidates who do not fully meet these criteria. An MEP (Land) rating is desirable. Other requirements include a passion for aviation, previous experience delivering quality training to fellow Flight Instructors, the ability to maintain the highest personal and professional standards, and maintaining licences, ratings and medical status in line with company requirements and applicable aviation-authority regulations. Candidates should be able to work independently and use their own initiative, bring strong report-writing, systems and IT skills, work flexibly on shifts under the established rota, communicate excellently in writing and verbally with a positive and enthusiastic outlook, and demonstrate alignment with the company's core values in attitude, conduct and work ethic. This is a full-time 37.5-hour position based at Oxford with travel to Spain as required, and applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every listed requirement.
