About This Role
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Level 5 F-35 Test Pilot for its onsite Flight Operations team in Fort Worth, Texas. The role initially supports F-35 efforts and may expand to Advanced Development Programs, known as Skunk Works. It combines flight-test leadership, Pilot Vehicle Interface and requirements development, F-35 subject-matter expertise, test planning and execution, and missions including experimental, developmental, production, engineering, customer-demonstration, and test-support flights. The position requires U.S. citizenship and access to a facility requiring special clearance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Test Pilot supports Pilot Vehicle Interface development, requirements development, and market assistance, and serves as a subject-matter expert on all aspects of the F-35. Responsibilities include flight-test planning, run-card development, test execution, and reporting
- flying experimental, developmental, production, engineering flight-test, test-support, and customer-demonstration missions
- coordinating flight-operations efforts
- approving cockpit configuration
- and conducting demonstration flights for customers, government officials, or other personnel to show aircraft performance, flying qualities, and system capabilities.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a suitable FAA Commercial Pilot certificate for single-engine land and instrument airplane operations or an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, plus a current FAA Class I or II medical certificate.
- Required experience includes 1,000 hours of first-pilot time in a tactical aircraft and more than 100 hours of F-35 flying experience.
- Candidates must be graduates of a military or recognized Test Pilot School, hold a SECRET or higher security clearance, be willing to travel, and have a valid U.S. passport.
- The desired skill is comfort working with Communications and Public Relations in front of a camera.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory because the facility requires special access.
