About This Role
BGI, a Lockheed Martin contractor, is seeking experienced F-35 Pilot Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Instructor Pilots for full-time and part-time positions across multiple F-35 Enterprise locations including bases in the US, Italy, and Japan. The role involves training F-35 pilots in flight procedures, emergency procedures, and tactical employment using the F-35 Full Mission Simulator, along with creating training materials and mission scenarios. Candidates must be qualified instructor pilots with a minimum of 1000 hours of fighter flight time on fourth/fifth generation aircraft and hold an active secret clearance with eligibility for SAP clearance. Selected candidates will receive 4-5 months of F-35 and simulator training at designated locations (Eglin, Luke AFB, or MCAS Beaufort) starting as early as June 2024.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct quality aircrew training device operation and accomplish applicable mission objectives
- Maintain weapons system expertise on F-35
- Prepare briefing rooms for flight briefs before scheduled training device missions
- Clean-up brief/debrief rooms after missions
- Evaluate and record training device issues and pilot feedback
- Conduct remedial student academic or aircrew training device instruction as required
- Conduct student academic evaluations and correct to 100% accuracy
- Support aircrew training device scenario design and programming efforts
- Conduct flight briefings and debriefings for student missions utilizing F-35 Full Mission Simulator
- Operate the Instructor Operator Station to facilitate student training
- Review monthly/quarterly flying literature, safety reports and Service publications for training material updates
- Perform related additional duties as assigned by Site Director or applicable manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with 14+ years of professional experience
- Alternatively: 12 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree
- Operational Instructor Pilot (IP) experience (required)
- Minimum 1000 hours fighter flight time on fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft (desired)
- Active secret clearance with completed investigation within the last 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation
- Eligible to obtain SAP clearance
- Valid pilot license (ATPL)
- Fighter pilot background or back-seat fighter experience (back-seat experience considered for certain positions)
