About This Role
SkyCare Air Ambulance & Charters is offering a full-time entry-level pilot opportunity in Sioux Lookout as part of its structured Captain Development Program. Candidates begin in a ground-based operational role as an Operations Coordinator or Aircraft Groomer, typically for several months, before progressing to the Navajo First Officer seat and ultimately the left seat on the Metro. Progression depends on performance, training completion, operational readiness, and operational needs, with the program supporting medevac flights for remote northern communities, time-critical cargo, and specialized charter operations across North America and the Caribbean.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The program begins with a ground-based operational assignment. As an Operations Coordinator in Sioux Lookout, the pilot supports the SOCC Coordinator and Flight Follower team, handles customer quoting, cargo receiving, and customs documentation, manages flight following and coordination, responds to real-time customer requests, and operates flight information systems to keep flights timely and organized. As an Aircraft Groomer, based in Sioux Lookout, Thunder Bay, Kitchener-Waterloo, or St. Andrews, the pilot grooms, details, and fuels company aircraft
- loads and unloads cargo and baggage
- operates ground equipment and tows aircraft as needed
- maintains hangars, offices, vehicles, and facilities
- and assists with commissary and customer service. After the initial operational phase, participants progress to the Navajo First Officer seat and ultimately to the Metro left seat.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a TC Commercial Pilot License, a TC Group 1 Multi-Engine IFR qualification, and a valid Class 1 Medical.
- The posting requires a minimum of 250 hours of total time, legal eligibility to work in Canada, and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector completed within the last 30 days.
- Candidates must also be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
