About This Role
Eastern Airlines is seeking a B777 Captain to command commercial flights from multiple bases. The Captain reports to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft, flight crew, passengers, cargo, regulatory compliance, operational decision-making, and coordination with company operations and maintenance teams. The role requires extensive turbine experience, wide-body PIC experience, strong knowledge of FAA regulations and company procedures, effective crew resource management, and the ability to operate safely in a demanding environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain has final authority and responsibility for the safe conduct of each flight, including command of the flight crew, passengers, and cargo. Duties include directing and briefing the First Officer and other crew members
- ensuring aircraft airworthiness, required documents, manuals, equipment, fuel, provisions, passenger briefings, weight-and-balance forms, and cargo security
- reviewing flight plans, weather, terrain, aircraft performance, regulations, airport facilities, and navigation aids
- deciding whether to start, delay, cancel, divert, or otherwise modify a flight
- coordinating with the SOC and Chief Pilot
- reporting deviations, incidents, suspected FAA violations, maintenance issues, and medical concerns
- ensuring VOR checks and other equipment checks are completed
- maintaining accurate flight and duty records
- confirming crew rest and readiness
- keeping the aircraft clean and properly prepared
- operating at suitable altitudes
- and delegating tasks without delegating ultimate responsibility.

Requirements
- Applicants must have at least 7,000 hours of total flying time, counting only operating-seat time in turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft, including at least 2,000 hours of PIC time on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial aircraft.
- Previous experience must include wide-body PIC time, preferably on the B767 or B777, along with a valid FAA ATP, FAA Class One Medical, Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, English proficiency at least equivalent to ICAO Level 4, a valid U.S. driver's license, and a passport permitting worldwide travel.
- Candidates must be authorized and eligible to work in the United States, have at least 1,000 hours under Part 121 operations, meet applicable FAA 121.436 requirements, pass DOT drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal History Records Check, maintain a passport valid for at least six months, and be able to multitask, work under pressure, travel, and bid work schedules by seniority.
