About This Role
Scoot (Scoot Pte Ltd), Singapore's low-cost carrier, is recruiting Direct Entry Second Officers based at its Singapore headquarters. The airline positions itself as young at heart, dynamic and passionate about travel. Flying alongside the Captain, the Second Officer helps deliver safe, comfortable and on-time operations while contributing to Scoot's distinctive 'Scootitude' passenger experience. This is a direct-entry pathway open to relatively low-hour pilots; successful candidates are trained to acquire the applicable aircraft type rating under a co-payment and training-bond arrangement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with the Captain, the Second Officer's focus is to deliver safe, comfortable and on-time flight performance.
- As part of the Scoot crew, the Second Officer also contributes to delivering the 'Scootitude' experience to every passenger on board.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold a minimum of 300 total flying hours as a pilot of aeroplanes.
- Candidates holding foreign pilot licences additionally require a minimum of 100 hours pilot-in-command (PIC).
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Singapore.
- Licence: either a Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) ATPL with a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating holding at least 3 months' validity, or an ICAO-issued ATPL with a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and a Proficiency Check holding at least 6 months' validity (foreign licences must undergo licence conversion).
- English language ability to a minimum of ICAO Level 4 is required, together with a Class 1 unrestricted medical approved by the Civil Aviation Medical Board (CAMB).
- Desirable traits include a keen willingness to learn with a strong passion for aviation, being a team player who shows composure, confidence and maturity, a good sense of humour, and the 'Scootitude' character.
- Where applicable, successful candidates will be trained to acquire an aircraft type rating, subject to a co-payment of the training cost and a training bond.
