About This Role
SkyCare Air Ambulance & Charters is a family-owned Canadian air service provider with more than 20 years serving communities from remote northern Canada and the Arctic Circle to the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean through air ambulance, charter, and specialized aviation services. The Direct Entry Navajo Captain flies as Pilot-in-Command on the multi-engine Piper Navajo, leading time-critical medevac missions and charter flights under IFR in both scheduled and unscheduled operations across northern, remote, and urban environments. The role is based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario and St. Andrews, Manitoba, with assignments rotating across the network based on operational needs, and it offers ongoing training, mentorship, and career progression within Flight Operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- As Pilot-in-Command, the Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in support of SkyCare's air ambulance and charter operations.
- Responsibilities include leading time-critical medevac missions and charter services, conducting diverse multi-engine IFR flying in both scheduled and unscheduled operations, and flying missions across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
- The Captain operates in northern, remote, and urban environments and works collaboratively with experienced pilots, dispatchers, and medical crews, while taking part in ongoing training and mentorship.

Requirements
- Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time.
- A valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), a valid Group 1 Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (IFR), and a valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate are required.
- Candidates must hold a valid ATPL, or a CPL with the IATRA or SAMRA/SARON examinations successfully completed.
- Applicants must be able to meet applicable international travel requirements, including travel to the United States, and provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 30 days.
- They must be legally eligible to work in Canada and maintain valid work authorization throughout employment, and be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
