About This Role
Emirates is recruiting Direct Entry Captains for its A350 and A380 fleets. The role is aimed at motivated, technically proficient pilots with at least 7,000 qualifying hours in multi-crew, multi-engine turboprop or turbojet aircraft, recent Airbus fly-by-wire captain time, and a valid ICAO ATPL. Applicants can qualify through an A380 or A350 pathway, each requiring 3,000 PIC hours on the specified Airbus FBW fleet. The Dubai package combines take-home cash with accommodation, education support, leave travel, insurance, pension contributions and potential profit sharing.
Duties & Responsibilities
- This Direct Entry Captain role places the pilot in command of Emirates' A350 or A380 Airbus fly-by-wire operation.
- The page specifically requires current Airbus FBW captain flying—wide-body Airbus FBW for the A380 route and Airbus FBW for the A350 route—and describes qualifying experience as time in the aircraft's operating seat, excluding simulator time.

Requirements
- Applicants must have a minimum of 7,000 hours of total flying time in multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft. Only operating-seat time in turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft counts
- simulator time is excluded, as are P3, rotary and single/multi-engine piston aircraft. Candidates must also have at least 150 hours in the past 12 months on Airbus FBW as a Captain, hold a valid ICAO ATPL with a matching Authority Class 1 Medical, and have ICAO English level 5 or above. For the A380 pathway, applicants need at least 3,000 PIC hours on Airbus FBW wide-body aircraft, specifically A330, A340, A350 or A380, and must currently be flying an Airbus FBW wide-body as Captain. For the A350 pathway, applicants need at least 3,000 PIC hours on any listed Airbus FBW aircraft—A320, A330, A340, A350 or A380—and must currently be flying on Airbus FBW as Captain. Airbus FBW excludes the A220. The application must include a CV, passport, an ATPL with the type rating for the aircraft currently flown, and a Class 1 medical certificate with no limitations other than visual corrections.
