About This Role
Eastern Air Express is seeking experienced Direct Entry Captains for their B737NG fleet based in Miami, with additional bases in Youngstown and Killeen. The airline operates Part 121 commercial operations and is looking for seasoned pilots with strong command experience to lead their flight operations. Candidates must hold a current FAA ATP certificate, valid First-Class Medical, and B737 type rating with minimum 7,000 total hours and 2,000 hours PIC, plus 1,000 hours Part 121 experience. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package with a quality-of-life schedule and a minimum monthly guarantee of 72 hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Exercise final authority for safe conduct of each flight including crew, passengers, and cargo
- Provide leadership and guidance to First Officers and crewmembers
- Demonstrate effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) and encourage open communication on safety concerns
- Ensure aircraft airworthiness and compliance with FAA and company requirements before departure
- Review, validate, and approve flight plans considering weather, performance, fuel, altitude, terrain, and regulatory compliance
- Make timely operational decisions regarding flight initiation, delay, cancellation, or diversion
- Ensure compliance with company flight locating procedures and maintain communication with System Operations Control
- Oversee fueling operations, cargo security, and passenger safety briefings
- Report irregularities, mechanical discrepancies, and suspected FAA violations to leadership
- Maintain accurate flight and duty time records in company systems
- Uphold professional standards of appearance, communication, and fitness for duty
- Serve as an ambassador demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and customer service excellence

Requirements
- Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate
- B737 type rating required
- Minimum 7,000 total flight hours (turboprop and/or turbojet time in operating seat)
- Minimum 2,000 hours PIC on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial aircraft
- Minimum 1,000 hours Part 121 operations experience
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Valid U.S. Passport or equivalent for unrestricted worldwide travel
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- ICAO English Level 4 or higher proficiency
- U.S. work authorization (U.S. Passport holder or Green Card holder)
- Successful pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Criminal history records check (CHRC) clearance
- Compliance with ongoing testing requirements
- Meets all FAR 121.436 requirements for Direct Entry Captain status
- Must live within 2 hours of Miami (MIA), Youngstown (YNG), or Killeen (GRK)
