About This Role
Seaborne Airlines is hiring Twin Otter seaplane captains for its FAA Part 121 scheduled passenger service in the US Virgin Islands, flying the De Havilland DHC-6-300 between St. Croix and St. Thomas from the Christiansted Harbor Seaplane Base. The role centers on water based operations in tropical conditions, including harbor takeoffs, landings, docking, and mooring. Applicants need an FAA Commercial Multi Engine Land and Sea rating, a completed ATP written, an FAA First Class Medical, and prior Part 121 or 135 experience, and must hold U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in U.S. territories.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the De Havilland DHC-6-300 on FAA Part 121 scheduled and charter seaplane services in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
- Conduct water based operations including takeoffs, landings, taxiing, docking, and mooring.
- Complete pre flight and post flight planning, inspections, and documentation.
- Coordinate with dispatch, air traffic control, ground support, and passengers, and operate safely in dynamic tropical weather and variable sea conditions.

Requirements
- FAA Commercial Multi Engine Land and Sea rating
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written test completed
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- Prior FAA Part 121 or 135 operating experience
- Seaplane experience in coastal, island, or open water environments
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in U.S. territories
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA ATP Certificate with Multi Engine Land and Sea rating
- Pilot in Command time on the DHC-6 Twin Otter (floats), Grumman G-73 Mallard, or similar
- Caribbean or tropical maritime flying experience
- Knowledge of marine and aviation weather systems
- Crew Resource Management and multicultural communication skills
