About This Role
Jet Linx's Destination 225° University Pilot Pathway in Omaha is a pilot-development opportunity run in partnership with Southwest Airlines®. It is designed for collegiate aviators attending a Southwest partner university or completing a Southwest Airlines® Campus Reach Internship, and guides selected candidates toward relevant flight experience with a Southwest Airlines partner. Participants can build flight time in Jet Linx's FAA Part 135 fleet while preparing for the next stage of their aviation careers and positioning themselves to join the ranks as Southwest Airlines pilots. The program aims to be highly accessible, cost-effective and innovative and asks participants to commit to at least two years with Jet Linx.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pathway's stated focus is to help selected candidates gain relevant flight experience with a Southwest Airlines partner and build flight time in Jet Linx's FAA Part 135 fleet.
- It guides them through the next steps of their aviation careers so they can put themselves in position to join the ranks as a Southwest Airlines pilot.
- During this preparation, Jet Linx also describes sharing in its culture and values as part of the experience.

Requirements
- Applicants must be accepted into the Destination 225 program through a Southwest Airlines acceptance letter and be actively enrolled in a university program affiliated with D225. They must commit to a minimum of two years with Jet Linx, provide a recommendation letter showing good standing in coursework and flight training, and submit a current resume displaying current flight times, ratings and other applicable experience. Candidates must successfully pass TSA background screening, a criminal history records check and FAA/DOT drug testing. They must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English, pass the prescreening required for employment at Southwest Airlines, and be able to relocate. Education and flight requirements include a degree or certification from the university program, Commercial, Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings, and the R-ATP requirements. Applicants must hold a USA DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- have or be able to obtain a valid passport permitting travel into and out of the United States
- possess a valid driver's license
- be authorized to work full time in the United States without company sponsorship of an employment-based visa now or in the future
- and be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
