About This Role
Jet Linx Aviation’s Omaha, NE-based Destination 225° Cadet Pathway is a four- to five-year ab initio route into an aviation career, offered in partnership with Southwest Airlines and CAE. It is intended for motivated candidates who may have no previous pilot experience, and it gives participating pilots an opportunity to build flight time as part of Jet Linx’s FAA Part 135 fleet. The pathway is presented as a career-lifecycle solution that helps pilots develop and prepare for the next stage of their aviation career. Entry requires Southwest acceptance into Destination 225 and active enrollment in the affiliated CAE ab initio program.
Duties & Responsibilities

Cadets participate in the affiliated CAE ab initio coursework and flight training over the four- to five-year pathway, progress through the Destination 225 career lifecycle, and build flight time as part of Jet Linx’s FAA Part 135 fleet. They are expected to remain in good standing, keep current records of flight times and ratings, meet Southwest prescreening and safety-screening standards, and prepare for the next stage of their aviation career while sharing Jet Linx’s culture and values.

Requirements
- Candidates must be accepted into the Destination 225 program through a Southwest Airlines acceptance letter and be actively enrolled in the affiliated CAE ab initio program. The role requires a minimum two-year commitment to Jet Linx, a recommendation letter confirming good standing in coursework and flight training, and a current resume showing current flight times, ratings, and other applicable experience. Candidates must pass TSA background screening, a criminal-history records check, and FAA/DOT drug testing
- demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- satisfy the prescreening requirements for employment at Southwest Airlines
- and be able to relocate. Required education and flight qualifications include a degree or certification from the CAE ab initio program, Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine ratings, and the R-ATP requirements. Applicants must possess a USA DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate, have or be able to obtain a valid passport permitting travel into and out of the United States, hold a valid driver’s license, be authorized to work full-time in the United States without company sponsorship of an employment-based visa now or in the future, and be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
