About This Role
Everts Air is hiring a regular, full-time DC-6 First Officer who reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and functions under the authority of the assigned Captain. The role supports safe, compliant flight operations through flight preparation, aircraft inspections, checklist and radio duties, passenger assistance when applicable, fuel and cargo oversight, operational documentation, recurrent training, and currency maintenance. Compensation is listed at $106 per block hour.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer is administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot and functionally responsible to the Captain of the assigned flight, and must follow applicable manuals, flight procedures, letters of instruction, operations bulletins, and other company guidance.
- Before departure, the First Officer must ensure legal proficiency and adequate rest, obtain and verify current airway and airport charts, assist with preflight preparation, visually inspect the aircraft, and assist the Captain with all checklists.
- When serving as pilot monitoring, the First Officer makes normal radio contacts and position reports and assumes secondary Captain responsibilities as directed.
- For passenger operations, the First Officer assists the flight attendant with passenger escort, enplaning, and deplaning.
- The First Officer must monitor and supervise fuel servicing, supervise cargo loading, check that cargo is properly secured and consistent with the load schedule or load plan, watch for damage to the cargo system or aircraft structure, assist with securing cargo, and observe and assist when loading or unloading is performed by outside personnel.
- After a flight or series of flights, the First Officer audits the trip envelope, verifies that required documents are present, and initials the checklist as required.
- The position also requires annual recurrent training, timely completion of assigned computer-based training, maintenance of 90-day currency, and performance of other duties or instructions assigned by the Captain or supervisor.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, a current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate, and a Restricted Radio Telephone Operators Permit issued by the FCC.
- The required flight experience is 2,000 hours total time, including 500 hours of MEL experience and 500 hours of jet or turboprop experience.
- Candidates must present a professional demeanor and appearance, hold a current U.S.
- Passport, be able to obtain airport security clearance, communicate in English, be authorized to work in the United States, and have an ID or driver's license.
