About This Role
Perimeter Aviation LP is recruiting a Dash 8 705 Captain for Canadian scheduled passenger and freight operations, with the company also providing North American charter and medical evacuation services. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the Captain transports thousands of passengers each year and prioritizes safe flight conduct, passenger comfort and on-time performance. The role combines flight preparation, operational flight-plan coordination, aircraft inspection, weight-and-balance work, cargo handling, dispatcher flight watch and post-flight reporting, and is listed at locations in Mississauga and Timmins, Ontario, and Thompson and Winnipeg, Manitoba. It involves flexible scheduling, extended travel and work both indoors and outdoors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 705 Captain conducts flights with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual. Flight preparation includes checking weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, determining fuel and oil requirements, calculating airplane weight and balance, and reviewing, amending and accepting the Operational Flight Plan for the Type B 705 operation. The Captain completes an airplane pre-flight inspection before each departure
- loads, unloads and secures cargo or freight as required
- and completes flight watch jointly with the flight dispatcher. Post-flight responsibilities include notifying or confirming with the Company where the airplane is when away from base, recording flight times and defects, and completing all other post-flight duties. The Captain must continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- The posting's minimum education, experience and certification requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, the ability to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations, a Category 1 Medical, and a current Group 1 Instrument Rating. An Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with 500 hours on the DHC-8 is preferred
