About This Role
Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Flight Instructor to support F-35 pilot training at Tyndall AFB, Florida. The role provides ground-based and simulator instruction to military pilots through the Full Mission Simulator and/or Deployable Mission Rehearsal Trainer, supports flight-procedure, tactics, upgrade, and qualification-maintenance training, and serves as a subject matter expert for courseware and tactics development. The position is onsite, may require flexible scheduling to meet customer operational needs, and may include travel to other CONUS and OCONUS sites.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to military pilots using the Full Mission Simulator and/or Deployable Mission Rehearsal Trainer, focusing on flight procedures, tactics, and qualification-level maintenance.
- Operate the Instructor Operating Station, support pilot development, and act as a subject matter expert for pilot training and tactics development.
- Recommend courseware updates, collaborate with the Lockheed Martin team at Tyndall AFB to meet F-35 training and continuation-training objectives, support company initiatives and policies, maintain expertise in F-35 systems, procedures, and tactics, and remain current with changes to training programs and policies.
- The role also includes delivering ground-school and flight-training instruction, preparing lesson plans, supporting schedules and training records, ensuring course standards and objectives are met, and evaluating student performance.

Requirements
- Basic qualifications include a final transferable Secret security clearance with a recent periodic reinvestigation, the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program access, a minimum of 1000 hours of fighter flight time in fourth- and/or fifth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft, former Instructor Pilot experience, prior military pilot academic and simulator training experience, and operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, and helmet-mounted cueing. Candidates should understand instructional techniques, military publications, and advanced aircraft systems

Desired qualifications include current or demonstrated USAF, USN, or USMC Instructor Pilot experience, Weapon School, Top Gun, or MAWTS graduation, fifth-generation Full Mission Simulator experience, F-35 flight or Instructor Pilot experience, F-35 curriculum and systems knowledge, familiarity with F-35 program requirements, and experience with the F-35 ALIS program.
