About This Role
Solairus Aviation is seeking a full-time Citation XLS First Officer, serving as second-in-command on an operation based at KMMU in Morristown, New Jersey. The role supports safe, compliant and service-focused business aviation flights, with responsibilities spanning aircraft status review, flight preparation, weather and airport analysis, passenger and crew safety, regulatory compliance and trip documentation. The posting lists experience thresholds in total time, PIC, multi-engine land, multi-engine PIC, turbojet and instrument time, along with a Citation XLS or comparable type rating, first-class medical, annual ICAO international procedures training and local residence or relocation availability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer is responsible for the safe operation of the Citation XLS and for conducting flights safely and prudently in accordance with Solairus Aviation policies, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and the approved Aircraft Flight Manual. Duties include reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status
- completing a proper pre-flight inspection
- checking weather and facilities along the route, including alternate airports
- ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations
- protecting the safety of passengers, aircraft and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork under current procedures.
Requirements
- The Qualifications section lists 1,000 hours of total time, 500 hours of PIC time, 500 hours of MEL time, 100 hours of MEL PIC time, 100 hours of turbojet time and 75 hours of instrument time.
- Specific qualifications and certifications include a type rating on the Citation XLS or a comparable aircraft and a required first-class medical.
- The applicant must be able to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO International procedures training annually, and maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KMMU or be willing to relocate.
