About This Role
Solairus Aviation is hiring a full-time Second-in-Command (co-pilot) for a Cessna Citation XLS+ operation based at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS) in Austin, Texas. The role supports a dedicated client account in business/corporate flying and calls for a professional who upholds Solairus' culture of safety, service, and integrity while working as part of a close-knit crew that safely and expertly meets clients' travel needs. The position is on-call, and the pilot must live within a two-hour drive of KAUS or be willing to relocate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- As Second-in-Command, the pilot is responsible for the safe operation of the Citation XLS+ and for conducting every flight in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft
- completing a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- and thoroughly checking weather and facilities along the route to be flown and at all airports to be used, including alternate airports. The pilot must ensure each flight is conducted in accordance with Solairus Aviation's policies and procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, safeguard the safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew, and accurately complete all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum flight experience: 1,000 hours total time
- 500 hours pilot-in-command (PIC)
- 500 hours multi-engine land (MEL)
- 100 hours multi-engine land PIC
- 100 hours in turbojet aircraft
- and 75 hours instrument time. Candidates must be type rated on the Citation XLS+ or a comparable aircraft and hold a First Class medical certificate. The pilot must be able to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO international procedures training annually, and maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KAUS (Austin, TX) or be willing to relocate.
