About This Role
Constellation Brands is seeking a Chief Pilot to lead its corporate flight department from Rochester, New York. The role oversees safe, efficient, compliant, and customer-focused flight operations; manages pilots, flight attendants, and Assistant Chief Pilots; directs training and operational readiness; maintains regulatory and procedural standards; manages budgets and vendors; and aligns aviation performance with corporate objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all corporate flight operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, reliable service, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company policies, the Aviation Operations Manual, and standard operating procedures. Promote the department’s safety culture, support Safety Management System and risk-management initiatives, manage incident and occurrence reporting, and participate in the Emergency Response Plan. - recruit, train, coach, evaluate, and develop flight-department personnel
- maintain certifications, qualifications, training records, and operational readiness
- and manage approved crew-training programs. Develop and continuously improve flight-operations procedures, monitor industry practices, coordinate crew assignments and changes with Scheduling, and work with Scheduling, Maintenance, and other stakeholders to optimize aircraft utilization. Maintain a discreet, professional, and customer-focused passenger experience, resolve operational concerns, and build trust with passengers, company leadership, and internal partners. Manage the pilot-training budget, operational expenses, resource allocation, vendor contracts, operational and pilot records, training documentation, audits, inspections, regulatory reviews, and continuous-improvement projects. When not assigned to flight duty, dedicate approximately 10-20 hours per week to strategic and operational leadership, safety, compliance, training, customer service, workforce planning, budget oversight, vendor management, cross-functional coordination, and department improvement. Model professionalism, preparation, integrity, accountability, sound judgment, precision, and disciplined execution across the flight department.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, current FAA First Class Medical Certificate, at least 5,000 total flight hours including 3,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command, and at least 10 years of aviation operations experience with 5 years in leadership. Candidates must hold a type rating for at least one operated aircraft type, qualify under the Constellation Leasing LLC training program to serve as Pilot-in-Command, and have completed approved simulator training in the jet for which they are type rated within the previous 12 months. The role requires availability for extended domestic and international travel, a valid U.S. Passport and Driver’s License, the ability to reside within one hour of Rochester International Airport (KROC), successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening, and demonstrated knowledge of company operations, training and standard operating procedures, check-pilot materials where applicable, and civil aviation regulations. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, an associate degree in Aviation Management, or NBAA Certified Aviation Manager certification
- Gulfstream G280 and/or GVII type ratings
