Solairus Aviation is hiring a full-time Challenger 650 Second-in-Command (SIC) based at Austin Executive Airport (KEDC) serving the Pflugerville, Texas area. Solairus is a business-aviation operator seeking a safety-minded, team-oriented pilot who upholds its culture of safety, service, and integrity. The position crews the Challenger 650 to meet clients' travel needs safely and professionally, including international operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe operation of the Challenger 650 and for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft
- performing a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- completing a thorough check of the weather and of the facilities along the route to be flown and the airports to be used, including alternates
- ensuring each flight is conducted in accordance with Solairus Aviation's policies and procedures and the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- ensuring the safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
Requirements
- Flight experience: 3,000 hours total time, 1,500 hours PIC, 1,500 hours multi-engine land (MEL), 500 hours MEL PIC, 500 hours in turbojet aircraft, and 250 hours instrument.
- Candidates must be type rated on the Challenger 650 or a comparable aircraft and hold a First Class medical certificate.
- The role requires availability to work on an on-call basis, the ability to complete ICAO International procedures training annually, and a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KEDC (or willingness to relocate).
