About This Role
Advanced Air, LLC is seeking a Challenger 300 Captain/Pilot in Command for a Hawthorne, California (HHR) base on a two-pilot Part 135 account supported by a dedicated maintenance technician. The PIC will operate the aircraft, coordinate VIP and owner flying with the Flight team, lead the two-member crew, and support aircraft management, maintenance, training, safety, security, and operational readiness. The role combines flight duties with extensive owner-service and ground responsibilities, including aircraft preparation, supplies, passenger electronics, cleaning, logistics, and vendor coordination. This is not a commutable position and requires residence in or relocation to the Hawthorne/Greater Los Angeles area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot in Command of the Challenger 300 and report to the Chief Pilot, or to the Director of Operations in the Chief Pilot's absence.
- Work with Advanced Air's VIP and Flight teams to facilitate and schedule owner flights, aircraft maintenance, and flight-crew training.
- Attend to the aircraft at management's direction for non-flight matters such as vendor meetings, accepting deliveries, supervising service providers, and preparing the aircraft for upcoming trips.
- Lead and manage the assigned two-person crew, including crew scheduling and vacation requests, and ensure crew availability for owner-related tasks ranging from operating the aircraft to errands and aircraft-servicing requests, including picking up or delivering dishes, amenities, catering, and personal effects.
- Keep the aircraft owner-ready at all times by maintaining the interior and galley, stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and verifying that amenities and consumables such as food, candy, medicine, and beverages are present and unexpired.
- Confirm that passenger-facing electronics, including iPads with current movies, the music iPod, AirShow, Wi-Fi, and entertainment systems, are maintained and operational before each flight.
- Support aircraft readiness and owner service through stocking, loading, unloading, and other aircraft-related logistics.
- Oversee aircraft cleaning and stocking, arrange onboard laundry and dry cleaning, manage linens, towels, crew and owner uniforms, and other washable items, and maintain an accurate inventory of galley items, linens, bedding, and other supplies while restocking and communicating special requests to the owner or representative.
- Oversee aircraft expenses and keep them within budget, maintain Part 135 qualification, and lead the production of SOPs, checklists, LOA approvals, and other Challenger 300 materials as directed by the Chief Pilot and Director of Operations.
- Retain final authority for safe aircraft operation under FAR 91.3, maintain aircraft security during operation, complete the AFM preflight inspection, and verify that all required documents are onboard.
- Review flight briefs covering the flight purpose, weather, procedures, notes, special instructions, plans, and assignments.
- Comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, the company operations manual, operations specifications, SOPs, and company policies.
- Update flight and duty records, determine eligibility for the next assignment, and ensure maintenance discrepancies are reported and handled under company procedures.
- Participate in and promote the safety management system by identifying, reporting, and mitigating hazards and quality issues, providing timely management input, and applying system processes to address safety and quality concerns.
- Perform other tasks reasonably related to aircraft operation, presentation, service, and readiness, both in flight and on the ground, as directed by the owner or representative.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include a high-school diploma or GED, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, a Challenger 300 PIC type rating, 3,000 hours of total flight time, and 1,000 hours of turbine PIC time.
- CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates are preferred but explicitly not required.
- The candidate must have digital dexterity for aircraft preflight and post-flight work, high-level working knowledge of FAR Parts 91 and 61 and AIM Part Sections 4 and 5, and the ability to work in confined spaces and manipulate, push, pull, and lift objects in excess of 150 pounds.
- The role requires the ability to climb onto and off the airplane wing for preflight, post-flight, or an over-wing emergency exit, execute flights of up to 4.5 hours and up to 10 total flight hours per day within a 14-hour duty period, maintain Part 135 qualification on the assigned aircraft, pass a pre-employment DOT drug test, and undergo random drug screening.

- Employees must devote their full working time and attention exclusively to the account and may not operate, fly, or provide services for another aircraft or employer without express written permission from the Chief Pilot or Director of Operations.
- Physical demands include frequent stooping, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, repetitive machinery operation, and the ability to handle objects exceeding 150 pounds.
