About This Role
The Flight Instructor II trains customers and student pilots to safely demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to operate the aircraft used in their course of instruction. The role follows approved syllabi and Flight Instructor Guidelines, promotes Central Flying Service LLC goods and services, maintains professional and confidential conduct, and keeps availability information accurate. The position is a non-DOT safety-sensitive role involving aircraft ramps, hangars, maintenance areas, aircraft access, ladder climbing, aircraft noise, and continuous attention to surrounding hazards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Train student pilots according to the approved syllabus for each course.
- Follow the Flight Instructor Guidelines issued at hire and obtain Flight Training Manager approval for deviations.
- Maintain a professional bearing, protect confidential information concerning students, employees, and Central Flying Service LLC, and keep the schedule board accurate regarding availability.
- Promote sales of the company's goods and services.
- Work throughout maintenance spaces, hangars, and aircraft parking ramps in Little Rock, remain alert around moving aircraft, use precautions against aircraft noise, climb ladders at varying heights, and enter aircraft to provide instruction.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, with a college degree in Aviation preferred. Required credentials are a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument certificate (CFII), a third-class medical certificate, and a valid driver's license. Candidates must have completed all FAA-mandated flight training required for issuance of the CFI and CFII certificates.
