About This Role
NW Wings Aviation, a Part 61 flight school based in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII) to train the next generation of pilots in various piston aircraft. This full-time or part-time position requires an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and CFI license, with CFII rating preferred. Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight instruction to students in a safe, professional, and effective manner
- Conduct ground training sessions, pre-flight and post-flight briefings
- Prepare students for practical and knowledge tests per FAA Part 61 requirements
- Maintain detailed student records and ensure compliance with FAA regulations
- Participate in NW Wings Aviation promotional events
- Stay current with FAA regulations, industry trends, and best practices in flight instruction

Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (required)
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) license (required)
- Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) rating (preferred but not required)
- FAA Class 2 Medical Certificate or higher
- Knowledge of Part 61 flight school regulations
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Commitment to safety and professionalism
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Experience with flight instruction in various aircraft types (preferred)
- Strong understanding of aviation weather, aerodynamics, and FAA regulations (preferred)
