About This Role
Bridgewater State University seeks a Certified Flight Instructor 5 eligible under 61.195(h) for its Aviation/Flight Operations program in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The temporary, hourly instructor will provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction for single- and multi-engine training conducted under 14 CFR Parts 141 and 61. Applicants must hold the specified FAA instructor qualifications, meet 61.195(h), maintain a valid FAA medical certificate without disqualifying limitations, and demonstrate safe, effective instruction and sound aeronautical decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with Bridgewater State University flight-training-program standards and FAA policies and procedures.
- Comply with all applicable university and FAA regulations to ensure the highest quality of training for assigned students in each flight course.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include an FAA Certified Flight Instructor certificate with Airplane Single- and Multi-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings, compliance with the specific qualifications of 61.195(h), and a current and valid FAA Medical Certificate without limitations that prevent flight-training activity. Candidates must demonstrate safe aviation practices, the ability to perform and explain maneuvers and procedures simultaneously, effective instruction for students with varied training levels and experience, accurate instructional knowledge, strong customer service and training quality, and sound judgment and aeronautical decision-making under pressure in a fast-paced, noisy environment. The preferred qualification is in-depth knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Bridgewater State University administrative and operational policies and procedures.
