About This Role
Aero City Jets is seeking a full-time instructor pilot to support clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role is primarily responsible for piloting and mentoring clients in a Cessna Citation CJ3+, while also providing ground, flight, and simulator instruction across the company's SF50 fleet. The position combines pilot-in-command services, bespoke client training, flight-schedule coordination, safety and regulatory compliance, accurate records management, and highly professional customer service. The instructor pilot also contributes to client development, marketing activities, aircraft chart and database updates, and broader strategic objectives across Aero City Group's piston, maintenance, and sales operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide scheduled pilot services, including all applicable preflight planning and preparation required of the pilot in command. Conduct ground, simulator, and flight instruction and mentor Aero City Jets clients. Document activities in the appropriate software platforms, manage flight records and documentation, and maintain accurate, current records for regulatory compliance. Promote a strong safety culture, monitor weather patterns, events, and other external factors that may affect operations or cause delays or cancellations, and ensure clients are properly qualified and documented for their operations. Coordinate with instructor pilots, customer service, flight crews, ground personnel, maintenance, sales, and other departments to optimize resources, support client satisfaction, and maintain seamless operations. Communicate professionally with clients and passengers, address their needs, and provide comfortable training and travel environments. Help assess pilot training needs, prepare and deliver bespoke training programs, communicate client loads and progression to the Chief Instructor and customer service team, and prepare schedules suited to client needs and progression. Maintain accurate and efficient flight-schedule systems, report operational or scheduling challenges promptly to the Operational Director, monitor student scheduling and documentation, and ensure course materials and books are available. Assist with fleet aircraft database and chart updates, safety and security compliance, and the cleanliness and presentation of equipment and facilities. Stay current with aviation regulations, technology, and industry best practices, and comply with all FAA and company directives, policies, rules, and regulations. - prepare client-progression notes, record meeting actions, and follow up as needed. Scan and upload receipts and other documents, identify correspondence requiring attention, maintain current client training records, and prepare records for regulatory and governmental inspections or audits. Support relationships with current clients, identify new prospects, assist Aero City Group's piston, maintenance, and sales segments, contribute to strategic business goals, and participate in marketing efforts for aviation programs when requested. The position reports to the Vice President of Operations and has no supervisory role.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include a valid ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI, and CE525 type rating
- at least 5,000 hours of total flight time, 2,000 hours of turbine time, 1,000 hours of jet time, 500 hours in the CE525, and 1,250 hours of dual given. Candidates must hold a current First or Second Class Medical Certificate and have knowledge of aircraft dispatch and basic maintenance procedures. The role requires calm and effective problem-solving, sound decision-making in unforeseen situations, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a professional, courteous approach with students, passengers, and team members. Applicants must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, and possess legal authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have no history of accidents or incidents resulting in FAA violations or license suspensions and must demonstrate a customer-focused commitment to exceptional service. Preferred qualifications include Part 135 or Part 142 experience, corporate aviation experience, an SF50 type rating, experience in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York airspace, additional type ratings, a bachelor's degree, military veteran status, and extensive G1000/G3000 experience.
