About This Role
Jet Access is hiring a typed and current Citation XL (CE-560XL) Captain for its Indianapolis operation. The Captain serves as the senior crewmember on managed and charter assignments, exercising command authority and operational control, making final go/no-go decisions, leading First Officers, and setting the standard for safety, airmanship, and premium client service. The role combines flight planning, weather and NOTAM review, crew and duty-time compliance, aircraft-log and maintenance coordination, international security and documentation duties, and development of junior pilots. This is a field- and aircraft-based, non-commutable position requiring residence within a 90-minute callout of KEYE, a 10-day-on/5-day-off rotation, regular on-call periods, and domestic and international trips that may involve overnight and multi-day assignments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior crewmember and exercise command authority across Jet Access managed and charter aircraft, setting the standard for safety, airmanship, professionalism, and client experience. Exercise operational control on behalf of the Director of Operations and make final go/no-go decisions with safety as the overriding priority. Set the tone for each assignment, model company service and safety standards, mentor assigned First Officers through in-flight guidance and post-flight feedback, communicate their development to the Chief Pilot, and foster open communication, mutual respect, and shared accountability within the crew. Conduct operations in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual, applicable FARs, and company policies
- maintain proficiency and currency on assigned aircraft
- lead pre-flight planning, weather analysis, NOTAM review, and other preparation
- and ensure compliance with flight- and duty-time limitations and rest requirements. Deliver premium, personalized flight experiences for aircraft owners and passengers, respond professionally to their needs, coordinate itinerary changes and special requirements with the Operations Control Center, conduct thorough pre-flight briefings, manage in-flight service, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Review flight and maintenance logs before departure to verify airworthiness, coordinate open items with maintenance personnel, ensure pre-flight, post-flight, and routine servicing is completed and documented, monitor engine trend data when requested, and verify that current manuals, charts, and required equipment are aboard. Coordinate required maintenance to minimize effects on aircraft availability. Complete flight, aircraft, and passenger records accurately and on time for Part 135 compliance
- perform Ground and In-flight Security Coordinator duties under 49 CFR 1544.215(b-c) when applicable
- verify crew and passenger documentation for international travel
- coordinate customs and immigration requirements
- and conduct international arrivals and departures in compliance with FAA, ICAO, and applicable foreign aviation authorities. Participate in special projects and initiatives, maintain continuous communication with dispatch and scheduling, and manage active trip sequences, recurrent-training obligations, compliance deadlines, on-call periods, and multi-day operations away from base.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include an ATP Certificate, a current First Class Medical Certificate, 3,000 hours of total flying time, 1,500 hours of total Pilot-in-Command time, 500 hours of multi-engine PIC time, 250 hours of PIC time in type, and 250 hours of turbine PIC time on the assigned aircraft.
- The pilot must be current in type and must have completed initial or recurrent training on the required aircraft within the preceding 12 months.
- The role also requires working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to Part 135 and Part 91 operations, a valid state driver's license and passport, proficiency with digital flight-planning tools, avionics systems, and web-based or mobile flight applications, and successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

- The field- and aircraft-based position requires regular in-person presence at assigned base airports and charter departure points, domestic and international travel with extended overnights and multi-day assignments, evening and weekend availability, routine on-call periods, physical stamina for extended flight duty and variable environments, and the ability to meet FAA medical and physical standards for Part 135 PIC operations.
- The role calls for a commanding but approachable cockpit presence, clear crew and client communication, receptiveness to feedback, relationship-focused service, and strong culture leadership.
- Differentiating experience includes Part 135 or corporate managed-fleet operations serving high-net-worth clientele, mentoring junior pilots, familiarity with Avianis or ForeFlight Dispatch, extensive international operations involving ICAO airspace, overwater procedures and customs coordination, and participation in safety-management systems, audit preparation, or fleet-standardization initiatives.
- The schedule is a 10-day-on/5-day-off rotation, with Level 10 Meeting and all-hands attendance expected when the pilot is not on a trip assignment.
