Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) is hiring Captains to command its aircraft, holding responsibility for the safety and on-time operation of every flight. Captains carry ultimate accountability for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight and for everyone aboard. The role is based across the carrier's US locations in Miami, FL; Harlingen, TX; Alexandria, LA; and Mesa, AZ.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Hold accountability for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft and for the safety of crew and passengers.
- Ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft and account for weather factors affecting the flight, flight regulations and air traffic control procedures.
- Make full use of all tools and aids designed to provide maximum safety in the air and on the ground.
- Demonstrate safety ownership in every aspect of the role's responsibilities, performance and behaviour to ensure the successful outcome of every flight.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold an FAA airman certificate, an FAA First Class Medical Certificate and a valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator's permit, and must meet the requirements of FAR 121.436 for pilot-in-command.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours total time is required.
- Candidates must also have either 1,000 jet hours as pilot in command under a Part 121 certificate, or 1,500 jet hours as pilot in command under a Part 135 certificate.
- An Airbus A320 type rating is preferred but not required.
- Applicants must be authorised to work in the United States, able to maintain a valid passport, able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States, and have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
