About This Role
Thrive Aviation is hiring a Captain (Pilot in Command) for its Bombardier Challenger 3500 fleet, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Captain is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient ground and in-flight operation of the aircraft while exceeding customers' expectations and maintaining clear communication with leadership, crew, and dispatch. The most successful Captains act as leaders and mentors to their First Officers, cultivating a culture of insight, prestige, and authenticity. The role requires a current type rating on the company's fleet, a minimum of 3,000 hours total time, and an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Report administratively to the Chief Pilot.
- Take primary responsibility for the safe and efficient ground and in-flight operation of the aircraft.
- Check the identification of all passengers before they board the aircraft and ensure the pre-flight checklist is thoroughly completed.
- Train and mentor First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft.
- Anticipate customers' needs and strive to exceed their expectations.
- Comply with FAA regulations, Thrive's General Operations Manual (GOM), and Operations Specifications, and adhere to department operating procedures.
- Maintain communications and coordination with the assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance, and administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or senior leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3,000 hours total time.
- Hold a Pilot Certificate, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Permit, and an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Hold a valid, unexpired US Passport.
- Hold a current type rating on the company's fleet (Challenger 3500).
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to take on new challenges as the company grows.
- Physical requirements include maintaining an FAA First Class Medical Certificate and being able to remain in a seated position in a small space for an extended period.
- The work environment involves long periods of sitting, close interaction with customers and other flight crew in a small space, spending several days or weeks away from home each week, and irregular hours with flights or cancellations occurring on short notice.
