About This Role
Yute Commuter Service is hiring Captains for its Part 135 scheduled and charter operation in Western Alaska, flying the Cessna 172, 207, 208 Caravan and Piper Navajo across the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta. The primary base is Bethel, with additional bases in Aniak and St. Mary's, on a 15 days on, 15 days off rotation. You need an FAA Commercial certificate with instrument rating, a second class medical and at least 500 hours total time for VFR or 1,500 hours for IFR operations. Caravan Captains ideally bring 2,000 hours total and 250 hours turbine, and Navajo Captains an ATP with 1,500 hours total and 100 hours multi engine. U.S. work authorization is required and sponsorship is not available.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Fly Part 135 scheduled and charter flights under FAA regulations and company procedures
- Carry out thorough preflight, in flight and post flight inspections
- Evaluate weather, aircraft performance and operating conditions for every flight
- Keep accurate flight records and required documentation
- Give passengers and the communities served professional, courteous service
- Use sound judgment and aeronautical decision making in a changing operating environment
- Work closely with dispatch, maintenance and fellow crew members

Requirements
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
- Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate (First Class preferred)
- VFR operations: minimum 500 hours total flight time
- IFR operations: minimum 1,500 hours total flight time and demonstrated IFR proficiency
- Valid U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available)
- Strong safety mindset, adaptability and professional attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Cessna 208 Caravan: 2,000 hours total flight time and 250 hours turbine experience
- Piper Navajo (PA-31): ATP certificate, 1,500 hours total time and 100 hours multi engine experience
- Previous Alaska flying experience
- Cessna 206 or 207 experience
