About This Role
Sunwest Aviation Ltd., the leading Western Canadian charter operator of jet, turboprop and piston aircraft, is hiring a Captain for its BE02 aircraft at its Calgary base. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the Captain is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the BE02 on charter flights across Sunwest's network. This is a full-time position worked on a rotational schedule (either 10 days on / 4 off or 5 days on / 2 off), operating under Transport Canada and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and effective operation of the BE02 aircraft and carry out all duties and responsibilities associated with the type.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations in accordance with company requirements, Transport Canada and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
- Adhere to the safety accountabilities set out in Sunwest's Safety Management System manual.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Chief Pilot and/or Deputy Chief Pilot.
- Participate in flexible scheduling arrangements — either 5 days on / 2 off with Saturday and Sunday off, or 10 days on / 4 off with Friday to Monday off.

Requirements
- Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence and a valid instrument rating, plus a type rating if required.
- Minimum 3,000 hours total time, 2,000 hours pilot-in-command, 1,500 hours multi-engine and 1,000 hours multi-engine PIC.
- Preference is given to candidates with time on the type.
- Hold a valid Canadian passport or resident status with the necessary visas to travel freely within Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, South America and Western Europe, and be willing and able to travel to the United States for training.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Demonstrate strong customer service, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, communication and interpersonal skills, and adhere to the safety accountabilities in Sunwest's Safety Management System manual.
- All candidates granted an interview must also complete personality profiling.
