About This Role
Korean Air is seeking experienced B777 Captains to join their long-haul fleet on 5-year renewable contracts. This is a premium position with one of Asia's leading international carriers, operating modern wide-body aircraft on global routes. Applicants must have substantial command experience with a minimum of 1000 PIC hours on the B777, 2500 total PIC airline jet transport hours, and 7000 total flight time. Candidates require ICAO English Level 5 or above and must be under 60 years of age at the date of joining, with recent type rating currency. Note: Applications are currently on hold pending MOLIT work permit review, but candidates can apply to enter a holding group for 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate B777 aircraft on international scheduled routes
- Command flight crew and manage crew resource management
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and safety briefings
- Ensure compliance with Korean Air operational procedures and safety standards
- Manage aircraft performance and fuel planning
- Complete required flight documentation and reports
Requirements
- Minimum 1000 PIC hours on B777
- Minimum 2500 total PIC airline jet transport hours
- Minimum 5000 total airline jet transport hours
- Minimum 7000 total flight time
- Valid ATPL license
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or above
- Less than 60 years of age at date of joining
- Flight on type within last 12 months (or 24 months if current on any other jet transport)
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate (implied)
