About This Role
BA Cityflyer is seeking a Direct Entry Captain to operate the Embraer 190 from London City Airport. The role combines premium business and leisure flying across the UK and Europe with a demanding seven-day operation that includes day trips, night stops and tours. Captains are expected to deliver industry-leading customer service while working professionally and flexibly in a close-knit team, with opportunities to progress into training, examining, recruitment and other operational roles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the Embraer 190 from London City Airport on BA Cityflyer's business, charter and leisure services across the UK and Europe.
- Provide an excellent flight experience for premium business and leisure customers while meeting high standards of professionalism, safety and customer service in one of the industry's most distinctive airports.
- Work flexibly within a close-knit team to support a dynamic seven-day-a-week operation involving day trips, night stops and tours.
- Captains may also develop their careers as Line Trainers, TRI or TRE holders, Pilot Recruiters, or through recruitment, training, sustainability and operational management project work.

Requirements
- Applicants should currently be operating as a Captain, although this is described as desirable.
- The role requires a current UK CAA Part-FCL ATPL (A), or the ability to convert to a UK licence through the CAA EASA transfer process route 5 or 6, together with a current type rating.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 4,000 total hours, including 1,500 hours as PIC of a commercial jet or turboprop multi-crew aircraft.
- The 1,500 PIC hours must be on an aircraft with an MTOW of 20,000 kg or greater and must not include PICUS hours.
- The posting also requires a current UK-issued ATPL (A), ICAO English language proficiency level 6, a valid multi-engine instrument rating and a valid Class 1 Medical that remains valid for six months after joining.
- An E-Jet type rating is desirable but not essential.
- Applicants must provide a copy of their licence and the last three pages of their logbook, and hours and ratings will be checked during screening and assessment.
